Microsoft ASL Compiler is a command-line utility for building and validating ACPI definitions on Windows platforms. It takes ACPI Source Language (ASL) files and compiles them into ACPI Machine Language (AML) binaries suitable for inclusion in firmware tables such as the DSDT and SSDTs. The compiler performs syntax and basic semantic checks against the ACPI specification, emitting clear errors and warnings to help diagnose issues early.

Commonly used by firmware and driver engineers during board bring-up and hardware certification, the tool helps ensure device enumeration, power management, and other ACPI-defined behaviors work reliably on Windows. It is typically obtained as part of the Windows Driver Kit (WDK) and can be integrated into automated build and validation workflows to produce consistent, repeatable ACPI table outputs.

Microsoft ASL Compiler is developed by Microsoft. The most popular version of this product among our users is 2.0.
